BIDDING PRACTICES
QUICKBID: provides the ability to bid the next available increment in the auction.  The QUICKBID option is available on the browse pages of auctions and your active bids page of your account. Once executed, the listing will inform you of your status:  “winning” or being “outbid” by another bidder’s proxy (max) bid.
Standard bidding: type in your bid amount in $100 increments.
Proxy Bidding or (automatic) method of bidding, meaning that we will bid on your behalf up to the maximum amount you have indicated (if necessary). Your maximum bid is kept confidential from other bidders.  Proxy bidding process explained below.
-If an auction has no bids, and you enter a maximum bid of $10,000 and your current bid is $5,000 – If nobody else bids, you will win the auction for $5,000 so long as the reserve price has been met.
-If another bidder bids $5,500, your bid will automatically increase to $5,600.
-If another bidder bids $10,100 (or higher), you have been outbid and will be notified via email.
You have the option to increase your proxy bid at any time before the auction ends.
In the event that two members bid the same amount, the first member to place said bid will take precedence.
Soft Close Time on Bidding
If a bid is placed on an item within 5 minutes of closing, the closing time will be extended by 5 minutes.
Bid Increments
All auctions begin at $1,000. Bids are accepted in $100 increments.
Buyer’s Remorse
Buyer’s Remorse is a real problem and is solely the problem of the Buyer. We do not offer paybacks, counseling, or safe spaces for those suffering from Buyer’s Remorse.  We do not let Buyers identify as NONBuyers for the purpose of backing out of their purchase.
Helpful tips in preventing Buyer’s Remorse: Buying from Sandhill Select Horses and our trusted Consignors may highly reduce your susceptibility to Buyer’s Remorse. Do not consume large amounts of alcohol while bidding. Do not bid on a horse without contacting the Consignor or Agent to learn more details. Exercise your right to request a Vet exam, with your chosen Vet, at your expense, PRIOR to bidding. Contact the Owner, Consignor, or Agent of the horse and ask questions. Take the time to meet the horse or go try the horse, or make plans for a trusted trainer to try them for you.
